Start Time and Location
The captain will be at the designated launch to get everything ready for your adventure. Please reach out to confirm launching sites and start time. Typical trips will be out of East Tawas DNR Boat Launch or Augres Public Boat Launch and will be ready to board the boat at 7am and trip will complete at a fish limit or around 1pm. We will then determine plan for cleaning your catch and please allow time for this. Any additional requests on start and end time can be discussed with the captain; it is important to the captain we make the trip as enjoyable as possible. The East Tawas launch requires the Michigan Park Pass designated by a "P" on your license plate sticker. Please let the captain know if you do not have one and other arrangements can be made. 30 min after designated start time with no communication with the captain will be considered a no-show.
Weather Considerations/Clothing
When booking a charter, we will not be able to predict Mother Nature. The captains primary responsibility is the safety of everyone on board. The captain will firstly determine if it is safe to fish. Any cancellations due to weather deemed by the captain will have a full refund or a re-schedule to a future date. Fishing conditions are rarely perfect and taking appropriate rain gear to combat wind and water spray will help to ensure a more enjoyable experience. There is no shade on the boat and even though it is usually a comfortable temperature on board the sun can be relentless on the skin. We recommend long sleeve sun shirts, hat, and sun glasses during the summer months. On those bluebird days we can also make a quick stop to the nearest swimming hole to help cool off.
Cooler On Board
65-qt cooler with ice will be provided on the boat. Please bring your own food and beverages to load into the cooler. Gallon ziplocks will be provided for you to take your fillets home (consider a personal cooler for transport). Extra accommodations can be made for freezing and shipping fish.
Boat Etiquette
The captain takes pride in keeping a well kept boat and requests the help to keep it that way. The captain likes to spend his cleaning time on fish!
Alcohol / Drugs
Alcohol is allowed on board and you will need to bring your own. Please enjoy in moderation and refrain from glass bottles and hard liquor. It is the captains responsibility to ensure everyone's safety on board and, if deemed necessary, will end the charter because of over-intoxication. The use and possession of drugs on board is strictly prohibited (including marijuana). As a charter we are covered by the federal government and must abide by those laws. Any drugs on board will immediately terminate the charter.
Cancellation/Return Policy
1. A cancellation called by the Captain due to weather or mechanical problems will create a deposit credited toward another Charter date or a refund. A trip terminated by the Captain due to the weather once fishing has commenced will not be entitled to a credit or a refund if the Charter party agreed to leave the dock. A trip terminated due to member(s) of the Charter party getting seasick will not be entitled to a refund or credit. A trip canceled in advance by the charter party will create a credit of the paid deposit to a deposit on a charter trip on another date as determined by the charter party and the Captain. If the replacement date cannot be determined during the same year, the credit will carry forward into the next year.
2. Deposits are required at time of booking. The Party has the right to cancel or reschedule the trip prior to 14 days of scheduled trip with no penalty. Within 14 days the deposit will be forfeited at the Captains discretion if a replacement charter can not be booked. Any cancellations within 48 hours and no shows on day of charter will forfeit the deposit.
